Zero Waste -BAILEY JOHNSON

Zero waste is not disposing trash or waste to a landfill. It also includes attempting to not use any plastic, that you cannot reuse. Zero waste has becoming very popular because our society has been noticing how our lifestyle is affecting us, plants, and animals. About 500 million straws are used in the US everyday, and will most likely end up in the oceans. Also, an average American throws away 4.2 lbs of trash everyday. That calculates to 1528.8 lbs of trash each year.

Major companies likes Buzzfeed, Nestle, Mars Chocolate, and many more have been taking a step. People participate in zero waste by reducing the amount of straws, buying their everyday items and food in bulk, eliminating most or all plastic, composting, and using reusable items. Now, how do you live zero waste? First, you probably need to invest in some money to start. Buying reusable products are expensive at first, but you won't have to buy them again. You also might want to invest in pots, soil, light (if using unnatural), mason jars (to fill with bulk food), straws, toothbrushes, and multiple dishes.
