The cubs Started in 1870,the cubs originally wore a all white outfit and were called the Chicago withe stockings. By the 1890s the team was called the Colts. In the early 1900s, the nicknames "Colts" and "Cubs" were both used.
The name Cubs became official in 1906. The cubs
won there first National League championship in 1876. The cubs won the World series in 1907 and 1908 they ended up playing poorly after that for 20 years. "The Wrigley family, founders of the Wrigley Gum Company, owned the team from about 1920 to about 1980 a long time after that they were sold to the Ricketts family in 2009." When they played games in Chicago got they played at the Wrigley field. The Cubs currently hold the record for the longest championship dry spell in all of American professional sports .They dident reach the world series in till 2016 3 years ago they won that sires in seven games.Chuck Norris played for the 1951 cubs. In 1906 the cubs had the record for the most wins in a single season 116 games. The 1906 cubs made it to the world series but lost to the Chicago white socks.
