Saints vs. Rams

On Sunday, January 20, 2019 the Los Angeles Rams faced the New Orleans Saints, for the spot in Super Bowl LIII. In the first quarter the Saints started off early and put three points on the board with a field goal. After, the field goal the Saints got an interception, giving them the ball again. The Saints ended up scoring another field goal for three points making the score 6-0. The Rams offense again was unable to move the ball and ended up punting the ball to the Saints. After the punt, the Saints scored a touchdown making the score 13-0. At the end of the first quarter the score was 13-0 with the Saints winning.


At the beginning of the second quarter, the Rams made a field goal, gaining 3 points and making the score 13-3. On the Saints next drive, they ended up punting the ball to the Rams. The Rams ended up punting the ball right back, but unfortunately for the Saints they were unable to progressively move the ball, forcing them to punt the ball to the Rams. The Rams were able to score seven points with a touchdown, making the score 13-10, at the end of the first half.


At the beginning of the second half, Rams started off with the ball, but unfortunately for them they weren't able to drive down the field and score, giving possession to the Saints. The Saints took the possession and scored a touchdown, giving them seven points to make the score 20-10. When the Rams got the ball after kickoff, they drove down the field and also score seven points with a touchdown, making the score 20-17, the Saints still in the lead. On the Saints next possession they were stopped by the Rams defense and were forced to punt the ball, giving possession to the Rams, and ending the quarter.


In the fourth quarter, the Rams were unable to score, therefore giving possession to the Saints. The Saints ended up punting the ball right back to the Rams, who then made a field goal, scoring three points and making the score 20-20. The Saints were able to also score a field goal, putting them in the lead 23-20. Unfortunately for the Saints they couldn't stop the Rams from making a field goal ending the half, and tying the game.


In overtime, the Rams won the coin toss and received the ball, but they didn't have the ball very long thanks to and interception by the Saints. Unfortunately for the Saints they couldn't capitalize on the opportunity, giving the ball back to the Rams. The Rams drove down the field and made a field goal, making the score 26-23, and winning the game in overtime.
