Have you ever saw a video of a polar bear? Well if you haven't, they are very cute animals. But, polar bears have a problem. They are endangered because of global warming and because of us. As stated in the text, "Because of ongoing and potential loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change, polar bears were listed as a threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species Act in May 2008." This shows me that the polar bears are on the endangered species list. These polar bears are endangered because of global warming. Global warming is causing the ice caps to melt which is taking away polar bear's homes and is taking away there food. As stated in the text, "Because of melting sea ice, it is likely that more polar bears will soon starve, warns a new study that discovered the large carnivores need to eat 60 percent more than anyone had realized." This shows me that because the ice is melting polar bears are starving to death. To stop this we need to use clean energy sources to prevent the atmosphere from getting any hotter than it is or polar bears will eventually become extinct.
