College athletes should get paid because they need to pay for their books, college fees, student loans ( if they take out student loans). The students need money to buy new equipment such as shoes and clothes. College players should only get paid, however, if they make it to the championship. Whether they win or lose they should still get paid. Obviously the winning team would get more. There are laws though that they can't get paid or they would be considered professionals. The athletes should get paid because the college doesn't pay for the surgeries or injuries that the athletes can endure. The athletes should at least get a signing bonus if they choose that school. The students shouldn't get paid because they got offered a scholarship and they get a free ride through college and could make it to the pros. They get to go to classes, they get a free dorm, they get to have fun, and just go to college for free. I'm on the side of the athletes getting paid, however only if their team makes it to the semi-finals or the championship. The NCAA makes so money off of the kids so they should get paid even a little bit.
