I have 2 Labs, In my opinion they are they the best dogs I have ever had.
The Labrador Retriever is one terrific family dog, given enough vigorous exercise (preferably including swimming and fetching games) and not just a walk around the block once a day. One of the best dogs for children of all ages Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.
The Labrador retriever is not a true guarding dog. Aggression and attack are not in their genes, however labs are originally bred as hunting and field dogs and their aggressive instinct may remain suppressed. These dogs are likely to turn aggressive when they see reason for it. In my opinion The lab is the best family dog because they are very playful and they can be your best friend.When labs are puppies they can be aggressive but only in a playful way.
