Artificial nails can cause damage or infection. Your natural nail grows under acrylics, so they need regular maintenance to keep nails healthy. Which makes them really hard to maintain. If you don't fill your nails after 2 weeks there will be a gap between your nail and the acrylic, anything can get in them, like water. Water will loosen the glue and that will make them fall of or cause infection. Also causes your nails to become really thin which makes them brake very easily. Worst case is you see "rings of fire" which is a painful grooves in the nail from improper drill use or over-filing by hand.
