The German Shepherd is my favorite dog. Obviously it is a German dog. The German Shepherd is trained by police. They are used to sniff out drugs, bombs and guns. The are really good dogs when trained right. There life span is 9-13 years. The average male can weigh 66-88 pounds, the female can weigh 49-71 pounds. The height for an average male is 24-26 inches and for the female 22-24 inches. German Shepherds are obedient, loyal, alert, intelligent, curious, confident watchful and courage's. They sometimes get overprotective of there family and territory. They are amazing dogs, they have many different colors. They are black, black & tan, red & black, sable, black & silver, grey. They the 2nd most popular dog breed in america.
