Football is a sport that was invented on August 20th, 1920 in Canton, Ohio. It has been around for almost 100 years (99 to be exact). It consist of 32 teams. The team in the NFL are: Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. There is 17 weeks in the regular season but only 16 games. The teams get a bye week sometime in the season where they can rest and make new plays. There can be 22 players on the field at a time (11 on offense, 11 on defense). The game start with a kick-off. There is 4, 15 minute quarters and a 12 minute break at halftime. A touchdown is worth six points but you get to kick a P.A.T afterwards which if you make it you get an extra point. The offense gets four tries to get a first down. They need to get 10 yards to get a first down and then they get four more tries to either score or get another first down. A football field is 160 feet long. A football is 11.5 inches in length. The playoffs consist of 12 teams and they are decided by how well they did. If a team loses they are eliminated but if they win they move on to the next round of the playoffs. The four teams that won in their division will go to the Conference Championship where they will go up against each other and whoever wins is going to the Superbowl. Each division will have one team go to the Superbowl. The last team to win the Superbowl was the New England Patriots. They beat the Rams, 13-3. The Patriots and the Steelers have the most Superbowl wins among all the other teams with 12 between the both of them, 6 for the Patriots and 6 for the Steelers. Football is coming back on September 5, 2019.
